Cleveland Cavaliers 115- Toronto Raptors 94
The Raptors kept pace for the first 3 quarters until the Cavaliers widened the lead. The Cavaliers now have a commanding 3-0 lead and will have a chance to sweep the Raptors.
Former NBA superstar Brandon Roy was shot during an outdoor gathering on April 29, 2017. LA Sheriff confirmed that he was one of 4 people that were shot and all victims are expected to survive according to James Queally of the Los Angeles Times
According to USA TODAY,
"A woman who identified herself as Maria and said she was a family member said, 'He's fine, he's perfect, he's recovering well.' A woman identified as Roy's grandmother handed her phone to a USA TODAY Sports reporter and a woman on the other end of the line identified herself as one of Roy's cousins. That woman said Roy was 'absolutely fine.'
Brandon Roy had a legendary run for 6 seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers before being sidelined by injuries. He now coaches Nathan Hale High School Mens Basketball team that currently produced #1 HS player in the nation Michael Porter Jr.
With none of the big players in the basketball shoe market such as Nike, Adidas and Under Armour wanting to license Lavar Ball's, Big Baller Brand for Lonzo Ball's rookie year in the NBA, the family has decided to release a shoe on their own and someone might have to tell them that it's a bit overpriced for someone who has not proven anything in the pros.
We'd understand if he released something around the $99-$159 ball park to get things started and to test the market. To give a perspective on how things are priced, the Lebron XIV is currently priced at US$175.
Now, here's the pricing range for the ZO2s
Sizes 8 to 13= $495 (P24,708.42)
Sizes 13.5 to 15 = $695 (P34,691.62)
The ZO2: WET- 'THE AUTOGRAPH' - BY LONZO BALL comes in a hard case with cool LED lights at a premium price of
Sizes 8 to 13.5 = $995 (P49,666.42)
Sizes 14 to 15 = $1,195 (P59,649.62)
As for these slippers, slip ons or "Slides" as they call it on their site is priced at US$220 or P11,0981.52
Is this worth it? We'll surely know by the end of the year if their friends and family will buy these footwear at a premium price.
*$1 = Php49.2
Back then, rivals will be rivals and you will not hear much from teams speaking about players on other teams. In this social media age and culture, players like Lebron do take the time to congratulate his fellow NBA player for reaching such a milestone.
Ofcourse, this is not true but it might as well be. It's like taking a personality test and what you're writing is who you want to be rather than who you are in the describe yourself section. At least do not validate these traveling calls by including some of them in the daily or weekly top 10.
Last July 2016, Mike Conley and the Memphis Grizzlies agreed to the max contract of $153 million for 5 years. Besides the point that we'd like to give an award to his agent, we do not mean to pick on him while he's down. He's in the NBA. The best league in the planet with the highest salary.
It still baffles us as he's not in the top 3 or 5 best players in the world. When the season started, he's not even in the top 5 in his position in the western conference! Who knows if he'll even make it in the east. Given those facts, it is safe to assume that he will not be an All Star this year, nor has he ever been.
Looks like Andrew Harrison will see more time or Grizzlies might try Vince at the point small forward if they want to keep things slower. No matter how you spin it, Memphis is on the losing end here. They have an almost unknown point guard whom they cannot trade until his 4th year where his contract can be used to shed salary cap.
With this injury and his contract, there will be less players they can resign or attract free agents. Why bother playing with a point guard who cant even crack the All Star team while he gets paid more than everyone else?
Does not make sense. Memphis lose unless the new CBA would allow them to amnesty Conley which would still require them to pay his full contract.
The 1992 Dream Team will always be the standard in team sports or at least in basketball. 11 of the 12 players are in the Greatest 50 and enshrined in the Hall of Fame. However, one of the best point guards of all time has been excluded. The supposed, "Freeze Out," of Michael Jordan as a rookie in the all star game was orchestrated by Isaiah Thomas could be a possible reason. Thomas also was the leader of the Detroit Pistons bad boys. Scottie Pippen once said that he did not want to play with Isaiah and despised the way he played. Other players described him as instructing teammates to "take out" certain players.
Here in Splash Tape, we believe in the purity of the game. If Isaiah did look into getting players hurt, the NBA should have been stricter with their rules back the 80s. Technicals should have been imposed more often and fines high enough to prevent such incidents. Also, players normally do not get to play with the players they want to play with.
This team could have been the very best with the inclusion of Isaiah Thomas. It was already marred with the choice of college player of the year, Christian Laettner over #1 pick, Shaquille O'Neal. Instead, Jordan gave an ultimatum to management that he would not play if Isaiah was in the team. This was not a basketball choice but a personal grudge. He had the right to say it but in no way to decide for the team. If every player did that, then maybe more would have been left off.
In this case, Michael Jordan was the Prima Dona of the 1992 Olympic Dream Team
Here are the outstanding issues of the game:
1. The Raptors should have had more than 2.4 seconds.
27.2 - 24 = WHAT? #shotclock— Patrick Patterson (@pdpatt) November 21, 2016
2. If Terrence Ross looked at the clock and it showed less than 2.4 seconds, he could have not taken 2 dribbles.
3. It was the Sacramento crew that made a mistake.
Here in Splashtape, we always feel that the game will be unfair from a certain standpoint. However, Ross had 2.4 seconds. He played within the bounds given to him and he made the shot. We do not believe that there should be an overtime or a repeat of the 2.4 seconds. This is a clear Raptors win.
