Back then, rivals will be rivals and you will not hear much from teams speaking about players on other teams. In this social media age and culture, players like Lebron do take the time to congratulate his fellow NBA player for reaching such a milestone.
Ofcourse, this is not true but it might as well be. It's like taking a personality test and what you're writing is who you want to be rather than who you are in the describe yourself section. At least do not validate these traveling calls by including some of them in the daily or weekly top 10.
Last July 2016, Mike Conley and the Memphis Grizzlies agreed to the max contract of $153 million for 5 years. Besides the point that we'd like to give an award to his agent, we do not mean to pick on him while he's down. He's in the NBA. The best league in the planet with the highest salary.
It still baffles us as he's not in the top 3 or 5 best players in the world. When the season started, he's not even in the top 5 in his position in the western conference! Who knows if he'll even make it in the east. Given those facts, it is safe to assume that he will not be an All Star this year, nor has he ever been.
Looks like Andrew Harrison will see more time or Grizzlies might try Vince at the point small forward if they want to keep things slower. No matter how you spin it, Memphis is on the losing end here. They have an almost unknown point guard whom they cannot trade until his 4th year where his contract can be used to shed salary cap.
With this injury and his contract, there will be less players they can resign or attract free agents. Why bother playing with a point guard who cant even crack the All Star team while he gets paid more than everyone else?
Does not make sense. Memphis lose unless the new CBA would allow them to amnesty Conley which would still require them to pay his full contract.
The 1992 Dream Team will always be the standard in team sports or at least in basketball. 11 of the 12 players are in the Greatest 50 and enshrined in the Hall of Fame. However, one of the best point guards of all time has been excluded. The supposed, "Freeze Out," of Michael Jordan as a rookie in the all star game was orchestrated by Isaiah Thomas could be a possible reason. Thomas also was the leader of the Detroit Pistons bad boys. Scottie Pippen once said that he did not want to play with Isaiah and despised the way he played. Other players described him as instructing teammates to "take out" certain players.
Here in Splash Tape, we believe in the purity of the game. If Isaiah did look into getting players hurt, the NBA should have been stricter with their rules back the 80s. Technicals should have been imposed more often and fines high enough to prevent such incidents. Also, players normally do not get to play with the players they want to play with.
This team could have been the very best with the inclusion of Isaiah Thomas. It was already marred with the choice of college player of the year, Christian Laettner over #1 pick, Shaquille O'Neal. Instead, Jordan gave an ultimatum to management that he would not play if Isaiah was in the team. This was not a basketball choice but a personal grudge. He had the right to say it but in no way to decide for the team. If every player did that, then maybe more would have been left off.
In this case, Michael Jordan was the Prima Dona of the 1992 Olympic Dream Team
Here are the outstanding issues of the game:
1. The Raptors should have had more than 2.4 seconds.
27.2 - 24 = WHAT? #shotclock— Patrick Patterson (@pdpatt) November 21, 2016
2. If Terrence Ross looked at the clock and it showed less than 2.4 seconds, he could have not taken 2 dribbles.
3. It was the Sacramento crew that made a mistake.
Here in Splashtape, we always feel that the game will be unfair from a certain standpoint. However, Ross had 2.4 seconds. He played within the bounds given to him and he made the shot. We do not believe that there should be an overtime or a repeat of the 2.4 seconds. This is a clear Raptors win.
After winning the championship against the Meralco Bolts, the Gin Kings guard got down on one knee and proposed to his long time girlfriend of 12 years.
Though we've heard comments that this takes away from the celebration of both events, we're still happy for the man and let him celebrate life. Congratulations to Barangay Ginebra and the future Mr & Mrs Marc Caguioa.

After 8 years of waiting, Barangay Ginebra Kings finally have a reason to celebrate. Fans came out from both sides with much invested by the San Miguel Corp. to build up the Kings. However, due to the Bolts losing a series they could have easily won, Meralco has decided to double up prices by Nov 1 and triple them by Christmas. Affected areas would be Barangay Ginebra. In lieu of this announcement, the barangay will receive a few bottles to help light up the homes.
If you believe in April fools, this post belongs there. There is no truth in price increase related to the game.
We congratulate and thank both teams for their hard fought battle. The PBA fans are the real winners though it seems the players and coaches will receive a hefty bonus after this.
On Sept 30, 2016, school officials called on to their students, teachers and alumni to wear black on the game between rivals DLSU vs ADMU tagged as Black Sunday to protestant the "rampant" Extra-Judicial Killings happening in the Philippines ever since President Duterte started his term last July 1, 2016.
However, few have responded to the call. There were some who felt that it was already alarming and they heeded the call of their university. Some were not aware of the call, some did not believe the call and others coincidentally wore black. Most supporters felt that politics and other concerns did not belong in the game and chose to support their respective schools instead.
Not all's wearing black in today's Ateneo-La Salle game, because as they say, 'F##k Politics'.— Ralph Domingo (@ralphierce) October 2, 2016
IT WASN'T JUST THE ATENEO ADMIN WHO ASKED THEIR STUDENTS TO WEAR BLACK, DLSU DID TOO. SO DON'T FUCKING SAY NA "POLITICS TALAGA SA ATENEO"— yann magcamit (@alltheloveyann) October 2, 2016
Ateneo vs. La Salle is much more exciting than Ateneo and La Salle vs. Duterte. Politics is ruining the rivalry.— Marvin Querido (@marvinquerido) October 2, 2016
Here in Splashtape, we respect everyone's right for their opinion and yet we believe in keeping the purity and beauty of the game.
The old is gone and the new has come. As far as facilities go for the LA Lakers, that's not the situation yet. They have been at the old training center since 2000 and will be moving in 2017 to the new facility that less than a mile away. Some of the features will be closer to the airport, bigger land area, 3 pools including 1 treadmill pool to help with rehab.
Jeannie Buss, Lakers President, said, "This isn't really wasn't about trying to keep up. This is creating what the Lakers need...."
